The goal of the Great March for Climate Action, according to the organization’s mision statement, is to “change the heart and mind of the American people, our elected leaders and people across the world to act now to address the climate crisis.”

Chicago Nominated for 2013 Earth Hour City Capital

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has selected Chicago as a finalist to be a “City Capital” in the annual Earth Hour City Challenge. Along with Cincinnati and San Francisco, Chicago was chosen by WWF and global management consultancy Accenture for actively taking steps to transition its communities toward a climate-friendly future.

Climate Change Exhibition

If you have not done so already, go visit The Field Museum’s latest exhibition. On display until November 28, 2010, “Climate Change” explores the changing climate throughout the 21st Century.  Areas of interest include interactive kiosks, displays, and videos examining human activity which has changed the world in which we live in. While there, you will see how burning fossil fuels and other activities caused the sea levels to go up, brought upon droughts and storms, destroyed natural habitats, and strained cultures.

Chicago Premiere of “Carbon Nation” Documentary

“Carbon Nation,” a documentary film about climate change solutions, will make it’s Chicago premiere on August 10 in Millennium Park. The film had it’s first viewing at the Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital last March.
